What Is a Carb Cap?

A carb cap sits over your banger after the dab goes in. It restricts airflow, which raises the pressure inside and drops the temperature your concentrate needs to vaporize.

Without one, a low-temp dab mostly evaporates into the room. With one, it vaporizes into you. It is the cheapest upgrade to flavor and efficiency there is.

Directional or Flat?

Flat caps

Cover the top, trap the heat, done. Simple and consistent, and fine for a traditional bucket.

Directional and spinner caps

Instead of just sealing, these steer the incoming air. That does two things a flat cap cannot: it moves concentrate across the whole heated surface instead of leaving it pooled in one spot, and it spins your terp pearls.

If you use pearls at all, you need a directional cap. Without one they sit still and do nothing.

Match the cap to your bucket. A 25mm cap will not seal a 30mm XL banger, and a loose seal means no pressure and no benefit.

What Is a Dabber?

A dabber, or dab tool, is what you pick your concentrate up with and place into a hot banger. Shape matters more than people expect: a flat tip handles shatter and badder, a scoop handles sauce and anything runny, a needle point handles sticky rosin.

Two Tools in One

These combine the dabber and the cap in a single piece, so you load and cap without putting anything down. All the titanium versions have directional airflow built into the cap end.

Choosing by Setup

  • 25mm quartz banger - standard bubble cap, cyclone cap, or a flat tip two-in-one
  • 30mm XL banger or XL nail - XL Glass Bubble Cap or the XL Flat Tip two-in-one
  • Hybrid nail - any standard cap; the dish sits inside the 25mm body
  • Terp slurper - sets include a quartz cap, but a cyclone cap drives the pillar harder

Running terp pearls? Directional or cyclone only. A flat cap will not move them.
