The Silicon Carbide Universal Nail pairs a Grade 2 titanium body with a silicon carbide deep dish. Every part comes apart, so a worn piece gets replaced instead of the whole nail.

Silicon carbide is dense and hard. It takes heat off the coil and holds onto it through the dab, and it stands up to daily use and cleaning.

Silicon carbide is smooth at a microscopic level, so residue sits on the surface instead of working its way into it. A swab takes it back to clean rather than scrubbing it back.

It behaves the way a nonstick pan does, with one difference that matters on something you heat every day: there is no coating. The smoothness is the material itself, so there is nothing to wear off or scratch through.

Both adapters are in the box, male and female, each covering 14mm to 18mm. That is four fitments on one nail, so it seats on almost any standard rig without a separate purchase.

🔩 Everything Is Replaceable

The dish top, the screw, the heat spacer and both adapters are individual parts. Chip a dish and you replace the dish. The titanium body underneath carries on.

The body also takes any MiniNail dish top, so the same nail runs a Silicon Carbide Deep Dish, a Quartz Deep Dish or a Titanium Deep Dish. Change the material without changing the nail.

🧠 Pro Tips

• Recommended range is 500 to 600°F. Give the nail a few minutes to come up before the first dab of the session.
• Swab the dish while it is still warm. Easy on this surface either way, quicker while the heat is still in it.
• Check the titanium screw every so often. Heat cycling loosens hardware over time, and a snug screw is what keeps heat moving from the body into the dish.
• Keep the adapter you are not using with the nail rather than loose in a drawer. It is the part people cannot find on the day they change rigs.
• Check your rig's joint before ordering. 14mm and 18mm are covered in the box, 10mm needs the separate adapter.
