First off, it cleans easier. I did not expect it to have an easier to clean surface. Carbon doesn't seem to build up on the surface either.

Second, terpenes come through more distinctly. I kind of think this comes back to the surface being easy to clean, but being that the surface doesn't build up gunk it has a better flavor.

Third, I actually had to turn my heat down. It seems to transmit the heat more effectively because you can taste a "hotter" flavor per dab. I dropped my temp about 15° or so. Logically that means the heating device will last longer (less strain).

Initially I only bought this to upgrade from the V1 style of nail (slightly different thread pitch/diameter on internal threading), but I'm really glad I decided to go for the Silicon Carbide. It costs a little more, but the performance differences definitely make the price worth it.

I was already happy with my mininail with quartz banger, but this thing really took things to the next level! The design is pretty great, it prevents those annoying scenarios where dabs just puddle up in the middle while your pearls just spin around the perimeter in vain. The heat transfer is also pretty great due to how the titanium pieces clamp the SiC dish onto the coil, as well as the properties of SiC itself. Keeping this thing clean is so much easier than quartz, and the taste is great (I personally don't notice a difference really, after adjusting temps down a bit for a better match). The only downsides are A) you have to be more careful when dropping your dab in so that it doesn't just go down the middle, B) you can't see inside the dish at all like you can with quartz. Well worth it though - you might just want to get a longer/skinner dab tool to cleanly maneuver your dabs into the dish.

Totally the best dish you can buy. but $80 is quite pricey. Look for a sale, they often have stuff on discount

I love it that they have high quality products for good price but I recommend anyone who need a set up this is best upgrade and super easy to clean love it.

I’ve had my mini nail for about 18 months. I purchased the sic dish when I purchased my mini nail. My mini nail goes on in the morning and off at bed time. My sic dish is still in great condition. Best upgrade you can do. The purr cyclone cap was a huge upgrade as well. Happy dabbing.
