MiniNail Coil Guard Instructions & Installation

The Heater Coil Guard is polished stainless steel that clamps around your coil arm and helps reduce direct contact with the hot coil. It installs in about a minute with the screwdriver in the box.

How to install your Coil Guard

  1. Power down and let everything cool. Never fit or remove a guard on a hot coil.
  2. Back off the two set screws. Use the mini screwdriver included in the box. Loosen them just enough for the clamp to open.
  3. Seat the guard on the coil arm. Slide it into position so the guard sits around the coil and the clamp closes on the arm.
  4. Snug the two set screws. Snug is enough. These are small screws in a thin clamp, and turning past snug strips the socket rather than tightening anything.

To remove it for cleaning or to change accessories, back the two screws off and lift the guard away.

Which guard do you need?

Both fit the Flower Wand Vaporizer, quartz banger kits, quartz hybrid kits, titanium nail kits, and any standard MiniNail enail setup. Both come in polished silver, gold anodized and rainbow anodized.

Set screws

Every MiniNail guard and caddy is held on by two set screws, and it is the same screw across the whole line. One Coil Guard & Caddy Screw Set is a complete set for one unit, and it fits the Coil Guard, the XL Coil Guard, the Coil Caddy and the XL Coil Caddy. No chart to check, no size to match.

  • Check them every few sessions. Heat cycling works small hardware loose, and a screw caught while it is still loose is a screw you still have.
  • Keep the driver with the guard. It is a specific size and a general toolbox usually does not have it.
  • Work over the table, not over the rug. Set screws are about the size of a grain of rice.
  • Running more than one guard or caddy? Each takes its own pair, so order a pack per unit.
